Id is what Id is
The heart is in the Id
The truth shines through when there is authenticity

My sisters' stories are nothing
My story is already sacrificed Continue

Most people do not believe that Mankind needs saving, but that is a large part of why he actually does. He is not responding to actual threats because he is not interested. He is not interested because he does not believe any are real. He knows that he has created illusions of threats so as to spur interest in the directions of his interest and thus believes all threats are but reflections of his own design. Yet the real threats go unattended.
There is one thing that you can do to literally sav… Continue

Definitions;A god == who/whatever absolutely determines what can or cannot be.
The God == Who/Whatever absolutely determines all that can or cannot be.
If such a power and characteristic is not essential to being a god, then in what way is anything a god???
---------------------
Determination is the effect of a determiner and thus if determination exists, a determiner exists.
A) If things are determinate, then whatever is determining them exists (the determiner).… Continue

Secular and religious reductionist/determinists argue about control. The Secular reductionist argues for no control and thus man is independent from control and thus man is in control. Religious reductionists argue for Control, that is independent from man (and/or woman) and thus turn and define that control. My arguments against religious reductionism has always been, if you define… Continue
I find this the most difficult question because I am in search for my own understanding of religion right now and I am not 100% sure if I believe that man was created or if man evolved from some other animal. I find myself believing that it can be both. Here is why, I believe god did create all things and therefore humans, but because we have seen in science that everything has evolved from something else in order to adapt to the ever changing world, that I can not completely agree that God crea… Continue
The world has come quite far since 1973 when Roe v. Wade went to the Supreme Court. Now, being pro-life means something very different, even if the idea behind it is the same. With any luck, in the next 40 years, we can go just as far, and perhaps not have labels like "pro-life" or "pro-choice". Wouldn't it be nice if the sanctity of life was respected by all, every life mattered and was considered before rash decisions were made. Perhaps people need to stop focusing so much on what their right… Continue
Abortion is such a hard topic to discuss, and so I found it very difficult to read different peoples posts without getting heated. I am religious, and I do agree that abortion is not the best idea. On the other hand, I can see why people get abortions. I really see myself in the middle, not taking either side. If you take abortion away, you are taking away a womens decision about her own life that she be made by her, not others. But, on the other hand, many more babies would live, even if they a… Continue
Abortion and the question of when a fetus is considered to be alive are two very hot topics. As I said in another post, I believe abortion is inevitable. It will always be around whether we, as humans, like it. I tend to agree with the Liberals to a point. They believe that abortion is OK if the fetus is going to live a life that is "frustrated" (i.e., grave deformity that would be life deprived, painful, frustrating for both child and parent). (Stewart p. 309). Of course, frustrated is a term t… Continue

Talking about abortion, especially in terms of religion, always gets heated. For many, it is hard to see past religious tendencies or bias's, to see the real truth of the issue. This doesn't just happen with abortion, but with any topic in which people have strong opinions. For me, coming from a religious background and having retuned that for myself, I have always had some problem with finding holes in other peoples arguments, especially the religious ones. Rather than prove myself right, I ten… Continue

Many years ago, when I first contemplated how we could have conscious experience I imagined that the brain was like a computer. Its parts were arranged over a few centimetres of space and at each instant it had a particular state in which some components were active and others quiescent. I then wondered how my experience of time passing could occur.
The first model of time passing that sprang to mind was of my "brain machine" being "washed over" by events in the world. A bit like exposing my br… Continue
LOVE, JOY AND PEACE OF THE LORD
Luke 2:8-12 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the L… Continue
This topic I believe should be more talked about since it’s happening on a daily basis, every where. The only time it gets really any attention is when a new law comes out and needs to be voted on or something. Over the past years abortion has created more attention through movies, television shows, and songs. It’s funny how it’s so avoided but really it’s around us all in society Continue
Our last reading for this segment of blogging was titled human origins and religion but the selection was more about religious views on abortion rather than human origins. This topic has already received enough attention and really, nobody’s opinion is changing anyone else’s position on the issue. Here is a newer idea to discuss about human origins and religion relevant to this site. How does your mythos create your religious views? So is it your personal story that draws you to appreciate a par… Continue
So, I was supposed to post on human origins and religion but I had thought. What about all those animal analogies in the Judeo-Christian texts? Is there a basis for the animal comparisons in regards to human circumstances? Lion=leadership, Lamb=pacifist, Dove=peace, Wolf=liar, Snake=evil, Flock=followers. In reality do these animals really display these human values or is there some sentiment towards animal worship? When the Israelites made a golden calf Moses melted it to ashes, then mixed the… Continue
I'm just flipping science upside down and saying that it displays all the characteristics of inverse animism. Now not everyone in science does this. But generally speaking that's to a degree how it's taught, it's how our brain can wrap around it most easily, I would contend when held firmly is simply Secular animism. the problem lays in the persons biology they have no ability perceive outside that paradigm due to their biological state. They are stuck so the very best they can do is look at biol… Continue
This section on Religion and Human origins relates to Open Source because a person can have their own personal beliefs which may or may not be the same as another’s. Beliefs and opinions are personal and should never be criticized just like a person’s belief of pro-choice or pro-life. Also, all though one may have different opinions they can still communicate effectively and come to agreements with another of different views, just like Open Source. Continue

Where is that kingdom exactly? Does it exist in some other reality, is it a thing, or a place what the heck is it? If you found it how would you describe it? Would you rely on other testimonies of it, would you describe it how/ Does it actually exist, what does it mean to exist?. I think here on Redefine God, we are continuously rolling around through and off of this construct or idea at a variety of levels. How we understand this has direct bearing on our values, morals, behaviors, our sense of… Continue
Sorry about the long title. This is my biggest issue or concern, that apparently no one really cares about. Apparently people figure that a growing global population is not a problem. I have a deep foreboding sense about the future that this is our destruction. I actually have no hope that our view will change. I've watched for 40 years at the silence on this topic it deafening. I see virtually all global conflicts and problems in relationship to this. I see all of our environmental issues in re… Continue
Haha..
Well, as to whether someone can understand or identify "Holiness", I have to say, "I can".
The only issue is whether it can be taught. Teaching is the ENTIRE issue (communication). Jesus was a teacher for a reason. He didn't just run around…
:-) You make me smile James. Tozer's point is that man cannot logic His way to God because there are factors he can't identify because he in innately blind to them. Holiness... who of us can begin to identify that quality. I think I started to catch…
But God speaks to Philosophers too. ]:o)
And yes, I had read the article, but that guy isn't a philosopher but a spiritualist. I have no disagreement with him. He just doesn't display understanding, logos, but rather emotional appeal, pathos. He is…
I think philosophers imagine, and sometime their close. I think that only God can reveal himself to us. We don't have the eyes to see, unless God first "spits on the ground, stirs up some mud" and heals our "blindness".
Did you look at the article?…

ahhh but now come an interesting seque.... How do we search that which is entirely foreign to us. Everything for us is in "time", how do we explore "eternal"? We only know finite. How do we approach the infinite?
I'll again recommend Tozer, but ins…
Yes, we always have to start in the middle of the puzzle without knowing how far anything extends in any direction. So we have to take one piece and examine what is surrounding it (what isn't it) and see what matches and what doesn't. If we are smar…
Forgiveness isn't the issue. I'm not the one harmed in the first place, and second, who am I to hold a "sin" against anyone when my own stack is so tall. That's not what I mean James.
I mean I will not let falsehood go unchallanged. Readers can det…
That is most definitely a quandry you are in. You're stuck between what the mind thinks it should know versus what seems hard to wrap your mind around. I understand that. I can't wrap my mind around the fact that we were evolved from monkeys. It mak…
